It specifies exactly which areas count as livable square footage, how to measure rooms with sloped ceilings, and how to handle basements, sunrooms, and other secondary spaces. It ensures that all Calgary MLS listings report square footage in a consistent, comparable way.

RECA requires that all residential MLS listings in Alberta include RMS-compliant measurements. What RMS Measures
